A Hawai`i New Year’s Eve complete with fireworks

Sparklers

Above is a picture that I took on New Year’s Eve, and I just really looked through them today. As you can see, we like to play with sparklers. Actually, I don’t because the smell is strong and the smoke is thick, but they can make pretty patterns on a camera. If you know how to take pictures correctly, which I don’t.

Actually, sparklers is kid stuff. Some people like to go to Chinatown and buy very large illegal fireworks that cost a lot of money. And it’s, inevitably, dangerous. Of course, my family doesn’t do any of that. But, since our house is on a hill (not in the rich person way, but more in the “our neighborhood is built on the side of a hill because that’s the only place they could put it” kind of way, we do get to see all of the wonderfully illegal firework shows that everyone else puts on.

  1. You’re rich. Don’t lie.

And yes I’ll put up pretty hanabi shots soon as well.

  2. Wonderful photo! You must have a great view of the fireworks! We are in a bit of a valley, so it’s only those that folks do here in the neighborhood that we are able to see. :)
    Again, nice pic!
