Blogger’s Doubt
New blog, shiny, fresh
smells like the inside of your mom’s
new
shiny
fresh
Camry
Excitement abounds
you think that for sure
you will post
ten times a day
seven days a week
365 days a year
(including holidays, because
after all,
reporters don’t get the days off)
Your excitement matches that
of the first time you held
Pokemon in your hand and vowed
you would catch ‘em all
And then the weeks past
blogging topics flutter away
on the Internet breeze
Stats inch up
by a single visitor
Ecstatic, you think,
someone’s reading me!
Cold-hearted reality
the bane of bloggers
sets in
you are the only visitor
to your blog
And then you wonder
is it worth it
do I really care enough about
bedsheets
or iPods
or how my shoes match
to keep this blog up.
Oh, but then
that awful miracle happens
a spike in traffic
a link from that holy grail
of websites
Digg
And you think
maybe
I do care.
(How’s that for the Internet’s worst poetry ever? :) Just thought I’d have some fun, since I’ve been slacking on the rest of my entries. And no, I don’t take such a simplistic view on blogging.)

Well, I’ve rated you on Stumbleupon…
My visitor numbers shot up when a friend rated my blog and have stayed up.

Check it out. And while you’re at it think about getting an SU account if you haven’t already
First time I looked over that, I read “smells like the inside of your mom” and I had a right good chuckle.
Thanks for the nod at stumbleupon, Britgirl!
Joe — Hehe. That would make me chuckle too!
