Number one Fav Fictional Couple

Bob and Dot Matrix from TV series ReBoot
Imagine this scenario: you like a guy, but you can’t say so, because that might put your little brother in jeopardy in case the two of you break up. Plus, the guy you seem to be falling in love with happens to have an ego the size of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, but he always manages to save you and your brother right at the nick of time. Not to mention, a mysterious girl from his past shows up and is looking to rival for his affections.

Then, a war breaks out, and you’re finally ready to admit your feelings for him. But a traitor that said he was on your side manages to banish your loved one forever.

The guy you love comes back, completely changed. Then again, everyone has changed. As the first female commander of the city, you have had to keep everyone together and you’ve always thought the man you loved was dead. It’s like he’s risen from the ashes, but all you can think about is how you betrayed him because you gave up. The war is won and you avenge the fact that he was shuttled away into some endless void.

Sound like a romantic sci-fi movie? Sound like something out of a novel? Nope. It’s ReBoot, the world’s first computer generated cartoon. And all that up there was the perils of Bob and Dot during the first three seasons of the animated show.

And the fourth season tore them apart again, with no more episodes in the works. I’ll miss ReBoot, but I’ll (perhaps) always like my number one favorite fictional couple: Bob and Dot Matrix from ReBoot.

I hope everyone liked this series done just for the blogathon. :) See you all during the last post.

  1. Beautifully spoken.

I think I’ll go watch some ReBoot later…

  2. Man, I used to watch that show! I don’t remember anything about him supposedly being dead but… maybe I only watched the earlier ones.

  3. Yeah. She thinks he dies after Season Two. Gawd, I’m such a geek.

  4. [...] ReBoot has one of the most fanatical fan bases (ah, yes, that definitely was redundant) that I’ve ever encountered. Yes, it’s small. But fanatical. This is not my first post about ReBoot. But it is my first attempt to try to spread the fandom. Absorb! [...]
